To succeed in international business and commerce today you need a good knowledge of English. Cambridge ESOL Business English Certificates (BEC) are ideal for candidates who use English in their working lives by providing an internationally recognised level of English language skills that can give a real advantage in the employment market. All BEC exams are based on realistic communicative situations in a business context and test the four skills of Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing as well as the ability to use a large number of language structures. The BEC Exams are available at three levels, which relate to the Common European Framework as follows BEC Preliminary (B1) Prepares candidates to interact effectively while carrying out routine business transactions, for e.g. speaking to clients over the telephone, writing brief letters, making appointments BEC Vantage (B2) Assesses how candidates can conduct and take part in meetings and teleconferences using skills of negotiation to put across a point of view. Ability to draft letters, memos, minutes of meetings and topics for presentation using appropriate business vocabulary and format. BEC Higher (C1) Assesses proficiency in the use of English for making presentations, negotiating effectively in the promotion of products and services, and in engaging in extended conversations with clients at meetings and seminars The exams are suitable for adults (aged 16 and over) who are either preparing for a career in business or already in work. BEC is recognised by institutions and corporations across Russia and world-wide. Once awarded, Cambridge ESOL Business English Certificates are valid for life. Our BEC preparation courses last 198 academic hours and cover all the important vocabulary, grammar, reading, writing, listening and speaking skills needed for exam success. A key feature of the course is that exam tasks are introduced gradually, giving training in exam strategies, the format of different tasks and guided practice in successful task completion. IPT also includes a number of practice tests in all four papers with feedback and guidance by staff who have many years of experience in teaching and examining BEC. |
