CPE, set at C2 of the Council of Europe's Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, is recognised by more than a thousand educational organisations, employers, ministries, government bodies and professional organisations throughout the world as demonstrating that a learner is approaching a standard of English similar to that of an educated native speaker. Holders of CPE will have a level of English suitable to participate fully in meetings, write detailed correspondence and reports, understand abstract concepts and demonstrate effective reading and listening skills. A key feature of the course is that exam tasks are introduced gradually, giving training in exam strategies, the format of different tasks and guided practice in successful task completion including analysis of sample answers. IPT also includes a number of practice tests in all papers with feedback and guidance by staff with many years of experience in teaching and examining CPE.
