An Introduction to Leeds Business School: Help business get the best from its people: In modern business, as the pace of change accelerates, the effective management of Human Resources is vital. This makes the human resources professional increasingly important, even pivotal to business success. Becoming a qualified HR professional: The course will give candidates the analytical and research skills needed to become a creative and dynamic HRM professional. Tutors: All British, all work for Leeds Business School. First PgD HRM programme in Moscow commenced in February 2005 with 25 students and graduated in July 2007. The second cohort of 28 students graduated in January 2009. Includes employees of Philip Morris, Nestle, British Petroleum, Baker Hughes, British American Tobacco, Shell, Sakhalin Energy, Amway, Castrol, Linklaters CIS, Xerox, Nycomed Russia, Cargill, GlaxoSmithkline, TNK-BP, Golden Telecom and Baker & McKenzie. 40 full study days (09:30 – 17:30) of interactive and participatory instruction over 24 months, delivered in Moscow by HR and management specialists from Leeds Business School in 9 x 4 day workshops and 2 x 2 day workshops. There is no requirement to go to the UK The workshops are usually delivered every 7 – 8 weeks over a Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Each year requires approximately 12 days of study leave / holiday. Assessment: The assessment methods are chosen to resemble the types of work faced by professional practitioners and include a continuous professional development log as well as examinations, class work, case study analysis and written coursework.
Year Two (60 credits)

The final stage of the PG Diploma requires students to complete a management research report based on a research project within their own organisations. The research project is designed to develop applied understanding and to be of real value to organisations.
